The mandated Professional Learning topics provided to all staff in Thames Valley District School Board (TVDSB) schools across the district demonstrate Thames Valley's commitment to establishing and maintaining relationships, supporting student achievement and well-being and celebrating diversity and inclusion.

Elementary Teachers, Secondary Teachers, Early Childhood Educators, and Educational Assistants
Educators will focus on keeping schools safe through community and culture building, consistent curriculum delivery and new curriculum updates. Additional areas of professional learning will include: assessment and evaluation, special education and Individual Education Plans (IEPs), and annual mandatory training.
Elementary Teachers, Secondary Teachers, Early Childhood Educators, and Educational Assistants

Educators will participate in school-based professional learning about program planning for human rights, equity, and inclusive education. Educators will also continue to monitor and assess the Safe and Inclusive Schools Plan and the School Improvement and Equity Plan focusing on instructional and assessment practices that improve student achievement in literacy and numeracy as they begin to plan for the upcoming school year.

Elementary educators will be engaging in parent/caregiver-teacher interviews. These interviews enable parents/caregivers to gain insights into their child's academic and social progress, strengthen the home-school connection, and collaborate with educators on strategies to support their child's success and well-being. Educators will be engaged in school-based professional learning focused on Student Achievement/ School Improvement planning in identified areas of focus (for example: Numeracy/Literacy).
