Guiding Principles
Our commitments to the TVDSB community
The Accommodation Plan reflects key commitments to our students, families, communities, and partners in public education. These guiding principles shape all strategies and actions within the plan:
Put Students First
Provide learning environments that support student achievement, safety, well being, and equitable access to high-quality education, while demonstrating responsible stewardship of public resources.
Communicate Openly
Ensure transparent, accessible communication and meaningful engagement with students, families, staff, partners, and communities throughout all stages of accommodation planning.
Establish Intention
Align all strategies with provincial legislation, Ministry of Education requirements, local municipal plans, and the Thames Valley District School Board’s strategic priorities and policies.
Demonstrate Responsibility
Implement data informed, accountable, and forward looking approaches to managing growth, optimizing space, and planning for long-term facility needs.
Embrace Community
Cultivate partnerships, strengthen relationships, and pursue collaborative opportunities that support the diverse needs of Thames Valley communities.
Monitor Change and Outcomes
Continuously assess demographic trends, enrolment patterns, and community needs to ensure accommodation strategies remain dynamic, adaptive, and responsive over time.
