Apple Personal Hotspot Help

A Personal Hotspot connects devices to the internet.

This will allow you to see the password for the Personal Hotspot.

  1. Make sure the iPhone is always plugged in.
  2. Turn on or wake the iPhone.
  3. Tap the Settings icon -> tap Personal Hotspot.
  4. Make note of the Wi-Fi password. You will need this for the devices that are going to connect to the Personal Hotspot.
  5. Leave the iPhone at the Personal Hotspot screen, this will allow the other devices to see the Personal Hotspot and connect.

NOTE: This iPhone is provided by TVDSB as a Personal Hotspot only.

  2. Tap the Settings icon -> tap Personal Hotspot.
  3. Make note of the Wi-Fi password. You will need this for the devices that are going to connect to the Personal Hotspot.
  4. Leave the iPad at the Personal Hotspot screen, this will allow the other devices to see the Personal Hotspot and connect.

NOTE: Once the other device(s) are connected to the Personal Hotspot, you can use the iPad for Learn at Home purposes.

  1. Turn on or wake the iPad.
  2. Tap the Settings icon -> tap Wi-Fi
  3. Tap the name of the iPhone/iPad providing your Personal Hotspot. The name should start with TVDSB.
  4. Enter the Personal Hotspot Wi-Fi password. 

That’s it, you are now connected to a TVDSB Personal Hotspot.

 

Wi-Fi status icon Information:

The Wi-Fi status icon in the menu bar changes to the Personal Hotspot icon as long as your device remains connected to your Personal Hotspot.

  1. Click the bottom right corner where the time is located.
  2. Click the down arrow beside the Wi-Fi symbol.
  3. Click the name of the iPhone/iPad providing your Personal Hotspot. It should start with TVDSB.
  4. Enter the Personal Hotspot Wi-Fi password. Click Connect.

That’s it, you are now connected to a TVDSB Personal Hotspot.

  1. Sign in to the Windows laptop.
  2. At the far bottom right, click on the speech bubble to the right of the date and time.
  3. Click Network.
  4. Then click the name of the iPhone/iPad providing your Personal Hotspot. It should start with TVDSB.
  5. Click Connect.
  6. Enter the Personal Hotspot Wi-Fi password. Click Next.

That’s it, you are now connected to a TVDSB Personal Hotspot.
