Before you get started

Please ensure the following documents/training has been completed.

Police Record Check

At your own expense, we require an original vulnerable position screening with a search of the pardoned sexual offenders database for placement purposes (volunteer will NOT be accepted). A photocopy will not be accepted. The police check is available through your local police department.

Generally, this process takes 4-6 weeks. Please arrange as soon as possible. If a letter/form is required for this process, please contact your Placement Officer at your institution.

The police check must be dated no more than 6 months prior to employment.

PLEASE NOTE: If you have lived outside of Canada within the past 5 years you may also require a record check from the police agency where you resided. This will be dependent on the parameters outlined by the police detachment where you make your vulnerable position screening request. This would apply to every location you may have resided in the past 5 years as listed in the letter that will be attached to your vulnerable position screening.  If this is the case, please refer to the Citizenship and Immigration Canada website for information on how to obtain a record check for outside of Canada.

Additional Requirements from Early Childhood Educator Placements

Immunization
Please provide a copy of your immunization records to your Associate Early Childhood Educator and the school administration.
First Aid and CPR
Please provide a copy of your certification of both of these qualifications to your Associate Early Childhood Educator and the school administration.
