Welcome Back, Thames Valley!

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

We are excited to welcome you back to Thames Valley for the 2026-2027 school year!

My name is Kevin Auckland, and it is both a privilege and an honour to serve you, and every student throughout Thames Valley, in the role of Chief Executive Officer.

In this role, I am motivated by the opportunity to help guide the system forward with clarity, purpose and an unwavering focus on equity, student achievement and well-being. As we begin another exciting school year, my commitment as your CEO is to listen deeply, communicate transparently and lead alongside you, in service of students. I look forward to sharing monthly updates with you throughout this school year.

We have prepared helpful resources below and on our website to support your family during the transition back to school. You will also receive further information from your child’s school before classes begin, to ensure every student has a great first day.

Thames Valley welcomes and values parents and caregivers as partners in your student’s education. I encourage you to explore the many ways you can be involved in your school community this year, and to reach out to the school directly for support.

Whether you are new to Thames Valley or back for another fulfilling year, I wish your family a strong start this September!

Sincerely,

Kevin Auckland
Chief Executive Officer
Thames Valley District School Board

Mental Health Resources to Support Students

The beginning of a new school year can be both an exciting and challenging time for many students and will impact their well-being in different ways. Thames Valley has resources available for parents and caregivers to support student mental health and well-being.

  • Family Well-being Community Workshop Series – Watch pre-recorded webinars presented by local community service providers on a wide variety of topics, including school anxieties and back-to-school worries.
  • "By Your Side" Parent/Caregiver Resources – Check out School Mental Health Ontario's free online resource hub for parents and caregivers, designed to support mental health learning and well-being for every family.

Student Password Reset

As part of our ongoing commitment to student account security, the TVDSB student password guidelines require students to reset their passwords at least once a year. Beginning September 1, 2026, all students will be prompted to change their password when they log in to board systems.

  • Students in Kindergarten to Grade 2 will enter their default password first, then the new password with support from the classroom teachers.
  • Students in Grades 3 to 12, Continuing Education, and Remote Learning programs will enter their current password, then the new password.

To assist families and students, information about the password reset process, password requirements, and student password guidelines will be available through the TVDSB Parent Portal before school resumes. School staff will also be available to assist students with password resets. Students are encouraged to complete their password change as soon as possible after returning to school. Thank you for supporting safe and secure use of digital learning tools at TVDSB.
