2025-2026 Safe and Inclusive School Plan

Our school is committed to providing all students with a safe, caring, and inclusive learning environment free from bullying and harassment that promotes respect, acceptance, and empathy.

Staff, students, parents and caregivers, and community partners will work together as a team to help make our school safe and welcoming for everyone.

The Safe and Inclusive School Plan highlights some of the key actions that our school community will put in place as part of our bullying prevention and intervention efforts.

Key Priorities and Goals

This year we are focusing on mental wellness, social media awareness, and cultural understanding, inclusion, and awareness.

We are doing this to promote the well-being, inclusion and respect of all stakeholders and to take a proactive approach in building community within our school and beyond.

Key Actions or Strategies

• Incorporating images and other visuals around the school, and within our classrooms, which will support and represent the different cultural backgrounds at WCI. We will also promote the research and reading of various works that celebrate diverse cultural backgrounds. We will acknowledge, celebrate, and raise awareness of the cultural traditions and dates of significance of our peers and colleagues.

• Having clubs and groups that foster unity and community and work to promote healthy relationships and positive interactions amongst all our stakeholders.

• Through wellness activities and discussions, we will continue to reinforce the importance of both physical and mental health, as well as safe and appropriate use of social media and technology.

Community and Home Connections

• Ask your child regularly about what they learned at school each day as well as the status of their mental, physical, and emotional health, in order to stay connected.
• Try mindfulness activities regularly at home with your child and discuss your child’s social media platforms to ensure safe and appropriate communications.
