Is my child eligible for transportation?
Elementary students must live more than 1.6 km from their school. Secondary students must live more than 3.2 km from their school.
To verify eligibility or apply for special transportation, contact Southwestern Ontario Student Transportation Services at 519‑649‑1160.
How do I register?
If your child registers to attend a Thames Valley District School Board school and lives more than 3.2 km away, they may be eligible for transportation.
For the 2025–2026 school year, a link will be available by June under Eligible for Transportation 2025–2026 to confirm that a bus is required.

Students who qualify for transportation must verify that they will be riding the bus.

If a student has two home addresses and requires bus pick‑up at both locations, a Joint Custody form must be completed online.

Transportation Request – Out of Area 2025–2026
Students registered at an out‑of‑area school are not automatically eligible for transportation.
A Choice of School Transportation Request may be considered if seats are available. Terms and conditions are listed on the form.
- Applications must be submitted annually and approved by June 27.
- Late applications may be submitted after December 1.
- Requests are reviewed in the order received.
- Students eligible for transportation are prioritized in August and September. Choice of School requests are reviewed after October 1.
- Families will be notified if the request is approved or denied.
Transportation is not guaranteed and may not be available at the start of the school year.
