2026-2027 Safe and Inclusive School Plan

Our school is committed to providing all students with a safe, caring, and inclusive learning environment free from bullying and harassment that promotes respect, acceptance, and empathy.

Staff, students, parents and caregivers, and community partners will work together as a team to help make our school safe and welcoming for everyone.

The Safe and Inclusive School Plan highlights some of the key actions that our school community will put in place as part of our bullying prevention and intervention efforts.

Key Priorities and Goals

This year we are focusing on building respectful relationships and positive peer interactions.

We are doing this to ensure that all students feel safe, valued, and connected to our school community. By developing respectful communication and restorative conflict-resolution skills, students will build positive relationships and contribute to a caring and inclusive environment.

Key Actions or Strategies

• Establish and promote a school-wide focus on respect and belonging by defining what it means to be a respectful, kind, and Shining Knights through clear expectations, engaging activities, and consistent positive role modeling.
• Implement and support restorative practices to guide students in resolving conflicts and strengthening relationships through respectful communication and accountability.
• Recognize and celebrate positive behaviour by highlighting peer interactions, leadership, and acts of kindness during monthly assemblies and through the Shining Knight Awards.
• Provide regular opportunities for student voice and connection, such as classroom circles or community-building activities, to promote inclusion and a strong sense of belonging.

• Ask your child about how they can demonstrate respect and kindness at school.
