2025-2026 Safe and Inclusive School Plan

Our school is committed to providing all students with a safe, caring, and inclusive learning environment free from bullying and harassment that promotes respect, acceptance, and empathy.

Staff, students, parents and caregivers, and community partners will work together as a team to help make our school safe and welcoming for everyone.

The Safe and Inclusive School Plan highlights some of the key actions that our school community will put in place as part of our bullying prevention and intervention efforts.

Key Priorities and Goals

This year we are committed to fostering inclusive learning environments by embracing acceptance — where every individual knows they belong and that they matter; promoting awareness — by noticing, learning, and growing together; and taking action — by doing what’s right and making a meaningful difference in our school community.

We are doing this because we believe that a positive and inclusive culture begins when we accept, grow through awareness, and show integrity through action. These guide how we treat ourselves, one another and our community
every day.

Key Actions or Strategies

• Involving our students in student-led, school-wide initiatives to address inclusivity, acts of kindness and
  gratitude with the use of our Colour House system and A+ Culture Cards.
• Celebrating our diversity through school community-based experiences and involving our community
  partners and families.
• Using restorative practice to address bullying and conflict by fostering accountability, empathy, and
  respectful dialogue.
• Facilitate classroom circles, morning meeting, and buddy activities to build empathy and connections

Community and Home Connections

• Check out our school newsletters for the most up-to-date school events and initiatives
• Encourage families to use the same language at home - phrases like, “That was an A+ moment of
  acceptance.” and participate in home A+ Family Challenges (say thank you to someone that helps youevery day, etc)
• Highlight community heroes that submit names either at school or within the community who show A+traits…feature them as an A+ Role Model
• Partner with the community leaders who can talk about awareness, empathy, and safety
• Organize community service projects and events …clothing or food drives, holiday cards for seniors,
  clean up the park days
