Indigenous Education
Overview
We work together with local Indigenous communities to provide appropriate programs that honour the histories, languages, and cultures of First Nation, Métis, and Inuit peoples. This inclusive approach to education affirms cultural identities and pride, and encourages students to reach their full potential.
Our purpose is to build relationships with Indigenous communities based on trust, mutual respect, and sharing. These relationships support and nurture the ongoing success of First Nation, Métis, and Inuit students and staff within our school board.
We engage Indigenous students, parents, and community members—including Elders and Cultural Teachers—in planning and decision‑making processes that affect the educational experiences of Indigenous students.
