Our History

Parkside Collegiate Institute is the largest TVDSB secondary school in St. Thomas, serving over 1,000 students. Opened in 1967, the school campus backs on to Lake Margaret and Pinafore Park. Parkside was built to replace one of the original schools in St. Thomas, the former St. Thomas Collegiate Institute, and that is why we are Parkside Collegiate Institute, not Parkside Secondary School. We humbly serve the St. Thomas and Elgin communities, dating back to the 1800s.
