Welcome to North Meadows Public School

Attendance

Regular attendance and punctuality are important. Excessive absences result in poor school work. When an absence is necessary, the parent or guardian should notify the school.

If no notification is received, the school will follow up to determine the student’s whereabouts. Notes are required for early dismissal and after an illness unless you notify the school by phone.

For student safety, children will only be released with a written request or prior phone call and only to approved contacts. Please ensure your contact information is current.

To report an absence, please use the SchoolMessenger system.

All late arrivals (after 8:55 AM) and early pickups (before 3:25 PM) must be signed in/out at the office.

All parents and visitors must report to the office to sign in and out.

  • 3:30 – 3:45 PM

Tree Nut / Peanut Safe School

North Meadows is a tree nut and peanut safe school. This applies both inside the building and on school property.

Some students have life-threatening allergies (anaphylaxis), particularly to peanuts and tree nuts such as almonds, cashews, walnuts, pistachios, and others.

Please do not send peanut or nut products in lunches. Avoid sending peanut substitutes (e.g., WOW butter), as they can be difficult to distinguish.

Your cooperation helps keep all students safe.

Medication at School

Prescription medication cannot be administered without authorization forms signed by both a physician and parent/guardian. These forms must be updated annually.

Please contact the school if your child requires medication during school hours.

Cell Phones and Electronic Devices

All members of the school community must support a learning environment by ensuring devices are used only when directed by staff, or for health or accessibility needs.

Personal Property

The school cannot accept responsibility for items brought from home. Students should leave valuable items at home.

Lost and found items are located near the front entrances. Labelling belongings helps return items to their owners.
