Welcome to McGillivray Central School 

Home of the Mustangs!

Located in North Middlesex Township, McGillivray Central School is a public elementary school serving students from Kindergarten to Grade 8. The school building was originally built in 1959, with an official opening on Friday, October 23, 1959.

In 1974, an addition was built to include a gymnasium, library, kindergarten wing, and staff room. Our school has a rich history, and many of our students' parents and grandparents also attended schools within Middlesex County, including McGillivray.

At McGillivray, every student matters, and we are dedicated to building connections and rapport with each one. We believe in the power of community and the importance of treating each other with kindness, compassion and respect.

About Us: 

McGillivray Central School is a public elementary school within North Middlesex township.  McGillivray is proud to have 135 students from Kindergarten to grade 8 representing 76 families within the North Middlesex community.  Many of our students’ parents and grandparents attended schools within Middlesex County, including McGillivray School.

The school building was originally built in 1959 with an official opening Friday, October 23, 1959.  In 1974 an addition was built to add the gymnasium, library, kindergarten wing and staff room.  The school was named after Simon McGillivray  (c. 1785-June 9 1840) who played an intricate role in merging the family owned North West Company with the rival Hudson’s Bay Company.  He co-owned the Morning Chronicle and the London Advertiser.  He was Provincial Grand Master of Upper Canada from 1822 to 1840.
