International Languages

International Languages Elementary Program Registration:

Registration for the 2026 - 2027 school year will open in late August 2026.

 

Registration for the International Languages Elementary Program is completed online. It is recommended you find your child's Ontario Education Number (OEN) prior to starting registration. The OEN is found on most educational documents such as report cards.

  • The International Languages Elementary Program will be conducted in-person.
  • The program is open to any student currently attending an elementary school in the Thames Valley District School Board or another publicly funded school board.
  • Please Note: Student participation will NOT begin until Administration is able to place your child in an appropriate class. Parents/guardians will be notified by email of the start date for their child.
  • Please Note:  Occasionally a class may need to be cancelled due to the unavailability of the instructor.  This will be communicated by email as soon as the information is available.
  • We highly encourage parents/guardians to register before the scheduled start date of the program to ensure there is space in the language of choice.

International Languages Elementary Program Value:

Our international languages program gives students the opportunity to:

  • Maintain their heritage, language and culture
  • Learn the language of their cultural background
  • Learn a new language
  • Understand a new culture

 

 

Saturday Morning Program

International Languages Elementary Program Dates for Saturday morning classes (9:30 AM to 11:45 AM):

  • First Day:  October 3, 2026
  • Last Day:  May 15, 2027
  • There will be no classes on long weekends or school holidays. There are no classes on:
    • October 10, 2026
    • December 19, 2026
    • December 26, 2026
    • January 2, 2027
    • February 13, 2027
    • March 13, 2027
    • March 20, 2027
    • March 27, 2027

International Languages Elementary Program Overview (Kindergarten - Grade 8) (Saturday Morning Program):

  • The following languages are offered at Banting Annex, 127 Sherwood Forest Square, London, ON:
    • Arabic
    • Gujarati
  • The following languages are offered at B. Davison, School of Adult, Alternative, and Continuing Education, 785 Trafalgar Street, London, ON:
    • Bengali
    • Hindi
    • Igbo
    • Korean
    • Nepali
    • Persian
    • Punjabi
    • Spanish
    • Tamil
    • Turkish
    • Yoruba

Classes run based on sufficient enrolment and successful recruitment of a qualified instructor .  Registration occurs on a continuous basis.  We highly encourage parents/guardians to register their children before the end of August each  year.
