High School MATH Here I Come!

High School MATH Here I Come: is a 14-day non-credit summer program for Grade 8 students entering high school in September 2021.  This program is geared towards students who would like to develop their math skills in preparation for secondary school math. Students will have the opportunity to build upon the knowledge base and processes foundational to Grade 9 Math.

Students will participate in diagnostic and formative assessments designed to inform teaching staff of students’ individual strengths and needs. A brief summary of growth and achievement will be provided to each student at the end of the program.

For Summer 2021, this program is being offered as an online synchronous program using the Brightspace platform.  Brightspace is a ministry funded and provincially supported cloud-based learning management system in which students can access classroom learning activities, submit work for assessment and receive feedback.  Google Meets will also be used for individual feedback and breakout rooms.

Prior to the start of the program, parents will receive notification providing them with direction on how to access the Brightspace online platform.

  • 3 hours per day online using the Brightspace online platform, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.
