Get a head start on Grade 9 with two days of tips, hints and skills!

High School Here I Come! is a non-credit summer program for Grade 8 students who are starting at a TVDSB high school in September 2025. Students will be provided with a variety of learning skills and strategies designed to help them with their transition to secondary school.

For Summer 2025 the High School Here I Come! program will be delivered on site over two days.

PLEASE NOTE: Once registration closes and students are scheduled, parents will receive communication prior to the start of the program to let them know the dates their child is scheduled to attend.

General Information and Expectations

1. Students are expected to be punctual and attend both days of the program from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. daily. Students are not allowed to leave the school early without a permission note. When a student is absent or needs to leave early the parent/legal guardian must provide the teacher with a signed written permission note giving the reason for the absence.

2. International students who are currently required to pay International Fees to attend regular day school will also be required to pay a fee to attend the High School Here I Come! program. This fee must be paid prior to registering for this program. Fees are due by Aug 1, 2025. 

Summer School for International Students

3. For TVDSB students, the parent/legal guardian must ensure the home school has their current address, phone and/or cell number(s), email address and emergency contact information on file. All changes must be reported immediately to the home school. The Summer School office cannot make changes to this information.

4. TVDSB reserves the right to cancel this program if there is insufficient enrolment. The parent/legal guardian will be contacted if there is a cancellation.

5. Students are expected to adhere to the standard rules of academic integrity. Behaviour that is contrary to a positive learning environment could result in a student's removal from the program. It is recommended that students read the entire Summer School Code of Conduct
