Adult and Continuing Education

This is a reminder that the Government of Ontario has ordered schools to remain closed to help limit the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).

The 2020 – 2021 Adult Day Credit Course Offerings at G. A. Wheable Centre for Adult and Continuing Education have now been published. The course offerings are subject to change due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The first opportunity to register for courses offered in Term 1 of the 2020-2021 school year will be on September 2, 2020 from 9:00 a.m – 11:30 a.m. and from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. More information is found in our Adult Day School area.

Return of Chromebooks & Textbooks from Adult Day Credit Program on Friday, June 26, 2020 and Tuesday, June 30, 2020

The G. A. Wheable Centre will be open on the following dates for Chromebook and textbook returns. You can take these items to the main office on:

  • Friday, June 26 from 9:00am - 11:30am
  • Tuesday, June 30 from 9:00am - 11:30am

Students who are returning textbooks will have a refund processed for the return of your textbooks rather than receiving back the cheque or money order you left with Adult and Continuing Education. It does require 6-8 weeks to process your refund, after you return your textbooks. Please be sure to come with ID if you are returning textbooks so we can ensure we process a refund for the correct individual.

Physical distancing and safe hygiene practices must be followed at all times while at an Adult and Continuing Education campus. The following practices will be in place:

  • There will be a limited number of individuals in the buildings at any one time.
  • If you are required to be in a line-up, please maintain a 2 meter physical distance
  • Make use of hand sanitizer that will be provided. You may bring a mask if you wish to wear one.
  • Follow the direction of traffic flow that is indicated on the ground or stated to you in person.
  • Use the indicated entrance and exit points to the building.

NO ONE may come to the building if they are showing any signs of COVID-19 or flu-like symptoms.

Student Access to Adult and Continuing Education Buildings on Tuesday, June 23, 2020

Dear Adult Learner,

Next week you will have an opportunity to collect materials from lockers, obtain Self Study booklets, and return borrowed Chromebooks and/or textbooks.

The following schedule has been developed for students to access the various Adult and Continuing Education campuses:

  • G. A. Wheable: Tuesday, June 23 from 10:00am – 2:00pm
  • Blossom Park in Woodstock: Tuesday, June 23 from 11:00am – 2:00pm
  • Balaclava in St. Thomas: Tuesday, June 23 from 11:00am – 2:00pm

Students are asked to bring their own bag/backpack to retrieve their items.

Return of Textbooks from Adult Day Credit Program  on Tuesday, June 16, 2020
On Tuesday, June 16, 2020 from 9:00am to 11:30am, at the G. A. Wheable Centre (70 Jacqueline St, London, ON N5Z 3P7), students who registered for an Adult Day Credit course at G. A. Wheable will have an opportunity to return textbooks and we will return your cheque or money order deposit. Please enter the building through the front doors. 

After June 16, 2020 Adult and Continuing Education will begin to cash cheques and money orders for textbooks that have not been returned. Should you decide to return your textbooks after June 16, 2020 we will provide a refund for your textbook deposit rather than returning the cheque or money order you left with Adult and Continuing Education. It does require 6-8 weeks to process your refund, after you return your textbooks, should you return your textbooks after June 16, 2020. Students will have another opportunity to return textbooks on June 23, 2020. Returning textbooks on June 23, 2020 means we will process a refund (which takes 6-8 weeks) rather than return your cheque or money order. More details about the times you can return textbooks on June 23, 2020 will come at a later date.

If you come to the G. A. Wheable Centre on June 16 to return your textbooks, please come with ID to confirm we are providing the cheque or money order to the correct individual.
