How to Find my TVDSB Username

If you don't know your TVDSB username please contact your teacher for help.  

To find your teacher's contact info, please click https://schooldirectory.tvdsb.ca/ to find your school and click "School Website".  On your school's website point to the menu "Our School" then click "Contact Us", to see the list of teachers and to email your teacher.

How to Sign in to a Chromebook for the First Time
  1. Power on the Chromebook.

    Press the power button to turn on the Chromebook. The power button is located at the top right corner, and looks like this:

  2. Connect to your home Wi-Fi.

    Click the time button (1) and connect to your home Wi-Fi by clicking the down arrow (2) and choosing your Wi-Fi name and enter your Wi-Fi password:

    NOTE: You may need a parent or guardians help with this step.

  3. Click "Next" on the "Sign in to your Chromebook" page.
  4. Enter your GoTVDSB.ca account, then click "Next".
    NOTE: If you do not know your GoTVDSB.ca account, please contact your teacher.
  5. Enter the password and click "Sign in".

How to Sign in to the Chromebook for Additional Users
To add users on a Chromebook. This option is best for people who will be using your Chromebook regularly, like family members. Here's how:
  1. If you're signed in to your Chromebook, sign out.

    To let someone else use your Chromebook, or to switch accounts.
    (a) At the bottom right, select the time.
    (b) Click Sign out.
  2. On the bottom left, click "Add Person".
  3. Click "Next" on the "Sign in to your Chromebook" page.
  4. Enter your GoTVDSB.ca account, then click "Next".
    NOTE: If you do not know your GoTVDSB.ca account, please contact your teacher.
  5. Enter the password and click "Sign in".

How to Sign in After a Password Reset

If your GoTVDSB.ca account has its password reset and has a pre-existing profile on the Chromebook, you will get an error when you try to sign in with the new password: “Sorry, your password could not be verified…”

To fix this issue, you will re-add your account to the Chromebook.

  1. If you are signed in, then sign out or reboot the Chromebook.  At the bottom left, click Sign Out.
  2. On the bottom left, click "Add Person".
  3. Click "Next" on the "Sign in to your Chromebook" page.
  4. Enter your GoTVDSB.ca account, then click "Next".
    NOTE: If you do not know your GoTVDSB.ca account, please contact your teacher.
  5. Enter the password and click "Sign in".
  6. Click "Forgot your old password?".
  7. Click "Proceed anyways".

When you remove an account, it’s only removed from the Chromebook. The Google Account itself, including its data and settings, will be safe.
