Lord Elgin PS temporarily closed

Posted On Wednesday September 29, 2021

In support of Thames Valley’s commitment to ensuring the safety of students and continuation of learning, Lord Elgin PS will be required to close to in-person learning effective Wednesday, September 29, 2021.

Board administration has determined that school operations pose a challenge with the current number of cases impacting several classes.

Lord Elgin students will temporarily transition from in-person to virtual learning until returning to school on Tuesday, October 5, 2021. There is no change for students already enrolled in virtual learning classes.

Classroom teachers are in the process of contacting families with information for virtual learning. Families requiring technology to support students to access virtual learning are asked to contact the school office.

A COVID-19 pop-up assessment clinic will continue to be hosted at Lord Elgin PS on Wednesday, September 29 from 3:30 to 8 p.m. in the school gymnasium. Families interested in attending this clinic are welcome to continue to access the school for this purpose.

The safety of all students, staff, and community members is a priority and decisions related to school closures are not made lightly. Middlesex-London Health Unit will be providing advice and support to the school community. For the latest COVID-19 information and resources, visit www.tvdsb.ca/covid19alerts.
