Six ambitious students from Sir Frederick Banting Secondary School and London Central Secondary School recently competed against more than 20,000 students from around the world as members of Team Ontario at the DECA International Career Development Conference (ICDC) business competition in Atlanta, GA.

 

DECA Inc. is a career and technical studentorganization that prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe. The ICDC brings together thousands of high school students, teacher-advisors, business professionals and alumni for several days of competition to attain 21st century skills in the areas of collaboration, communication, critical thinking and creativity.

 

After an intense week of training and competition, the students each earned a Certificate of Achievement from DECA Inc., scoring at least 70% with rigorous standards in their respective events during the competition. They also met new friends from around the globe while gaining valuable academic, professional and life experiences.
