Attendance area change reversed for St. George's Public School, Old North Public School

Students from St. George’s Public School won't be relocated to Old North Public School in September 2025.

This comes after Thames Valley District School Board Trustees reversed a previously approved attendance area change at its meeting on November 26, 2024.

First approved on June 28, 2022, as part of the London Elementary Panel Attendance Area Review (LAAR), the attendance area change would have relocated approximately 121 students from St. George’s Public School to Old North Public School. This would have taken effect once Northwest Public School opened in September 2025.

The attendance area change was designed to relieve enrolment pressure at St. George’s Public School, which was expected to see a significant increase in enrolment due to high density developments in downtown London.

However, after monitoring enrolment at St. George’s Public School and Old North Public School, staff found the expected enrolment increases from new residential development didn’t happen. With this information, Thames Valley staff recommended the attendance area change not be made.
