A positive case of COVID-19 has been identified at Sir Frederick Banting Secondary School in London by the Middlesex-London Health Unit (MLHU).

Thames Valley wishes to assure the school community that staff and parents/guardians of all Banting students were immediately notified. The school will remain open and school buses will operate.

“If you are not contacted by the MLHU, your child is not considered to be at risk,” said Thames Valley Education Director Mark Fisher. “Only students and staff who are at risk will be contacted by MLHU and will be asked to remain in self-isolation for a period of 14 days.”

Thames Valley is following all health and safety protocols recommended by public health and the Ministry of Education, said Director Fisher, adding that Banting remains a safe place to attend school.

Thames Valley is carefully following all of the public health protocols to keep students and staff safe, and all confirmed active cases will be tracked on our website at www.tvdsb.ca/COVID19alerts
