2012 United Way Campaign

September 30 - November 4, 2012

Change Starts Here. The theme for this year’s 2012-2013 United Way Campaign reminds us that together we can make a difference in the lives of families within our school communities. Our donations to the United Way agencies of Elgin-St. Thomas, London-Middlesex and Oxford will support families in need in a number of important ways.

Please consider making a contribution to United Way through our payroll deduction program.

An Important Part of Our Community
United Way makes our community stronger, identifying critical social issues in Elgin, Middlesex, and Oxford Counties and finding solutions that get results. Through a network of social service organizations, United Way funds only the most effective and efficient programs that aim to prevent problems before they start.

Message from the Director

I am pleased and proud to chair this year’s campaign for United Way of London & Middlesex. I accepted this responsibility knowing that I have the support of some of the most generous, kind and dedicated people in Thames Valley – my colleagues and our students.

As Board employees we see the United Way’s impact every day in our schools and in our communities. We know that the United Way is an important part of the change that is needed in the lives of the children, youth and families who live with poverty, addiction, neglect and abuse. We also know the difference that the right intervention can make in a child’s life. Change starts here.

The Thames Valley District School Board’s annual United Way Campaign supports the United Way agencies of London/Middlesex, Oxford and Elgin counties and the 77 community agencies they serve.

Over the years, our contributions of more than $2.3 million to the United Way have directly benefited families within our school communities. Last year we raised $346,703. We can do even more this year by participating in system wide events, site specific events, individual contributions, and payroll deductions.

If every employee donated one toonie per pay, our Board would generate more than $400,000! Imagine the impact we could have on the lives of our students, their families and our entire community!
