Priority Schools

Priority Schools Initiative

Through the Priority Schools Initiative, the Ontario Ministry of Education has provided support to selected school boards in order that not-for-profit groups may have free after-hours access to school facilities in communities that need it most. Fully subsidized use of school space will allow local not-for-profit organizations to offer affordable or no-cost programming at these schools.

The Ministry of Education has provided Thames Valley District School Board with Priority Schools Initiative funding for the following three schools:

  • C.C. Carrothers Public School (London)
  • Knollwood Park Public School (London)
  • Central Public School (Woodstock)

Important things to keep in mind:

  • School-based activities take priority.
  • Not-for-profit groups are the only organizations that qualify for free use of space at TVDSB priority schools.
  • An online permit request is required.
  • Availability of space for a not-for-profit group is contingent on its eligibility and our approval process.
