Summer Arts Camp
Lester B. Pearson Summer Arts Camp will cost $285 this year (no change from last year). This fee includes a free camp t-shirt and lunch served daily (except for the last day of each session.)

High School, Here I Come!! For all Grade 8 Students.
The High School, Here I Come!! program is four days of tips, hints, and skills to give students a heads-up as to what to expect when they enter high school. The topics that will be discussed during the program include the reality of high school, academic expectations and study skills, getting and staying organized, and getting involved in the school community. Students will have an opportunity to update their literacy, numeracy, and study skills. The grade nine English and Math curricula will also be introduced. Click here for details.
Summer School 2010
Summer programming is provided through the School of Adult, Alternative & Continuing Education and includes:
Secondary School New Credit Program (Grades 9 – 12)
The Summer School New Credit program is very intensive and fast-paced. Students are encouraged to choose a New Credit course in a subject area in which they excel. It is not recommended that students choose a New Credit course in a subject area they find challenging. Click here for details.
Secondary School Improvement Credit Program (Grades 9 – 12)
A student is eligible to attend an Improvement Credit course if (s)he has taken the corresponding day school course in the 2009-2010 school year and has remained registered in the course until its completion. Any student who has earned less than 40% in a course is not eligible to take a Summer School Improvement Credit. Students who have earned 39% or less must attend a Summer School New Credit program. Grade 7 and 8 Literacy & Numeracy Program
A separate program will be presented to students of each grade level. These are not pass/fail programs. Students will explore various learning strategies that will help them become more independent learners while increasing their personal management skills in school. Students will work on developing a range of strategies to improve their learning and achievement, particularly in the areas of literacy and numeracy. Click here for details.
Grade 7 and 8 ESL Program
The summer literacy program for English language learners (ELLs) is designed for Grade 7 & 8 students who are at early stages of English acquisition. The program focuses on oral language development and vocabulary building, as well as supporting the development of reading and writing skills.
Instructional strategies are used that prepare and further develop ELLs’ ability to participate and be successful in Ontario’s education system.
The summer literacy program provides an environment where students are encouraged and supported in taking the necessary risks to develop their proficiency in English. Click here for details.
Thames Valley Museum School
“Preserving Ontario’s Educational Heritage”
A visit to the Thames Valley Museum School is like embarking on a personal journey through local history. A reminder of Ontario’s educational heritage, the Museum School provides students, educators, and the general public a unique, hands-on experience.
This summer children will have the opportunity to explore their artistic and creative talents through the theme-based, children’s programs. Students will be excited about learning through the Museum School’s varied educational programs. Interactive role playing and hands-on activities provide learning experiences that augment regular classroom studies.
Programs are typically offered during March Break, throughout the summer holidays, P.A. Days, and on special event days. Registration is limited to 20 participants per program.
