Applications are processed online through the Ontario Universities' Application Centre (OUAC) in Guelph. From there, the information is sent out to the Universities to which you apply. The schedule is as follows:
Nov 11, 2011 - File transmission of mark history.
Nov 16, 2011
- Online application tutorial is scheduled for all students intending to apply to university.Mid November - Distribution of OUAC Online Application PIN’s which permit students to apply online. An $125 application fee is required for 3 choices. CASH WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. A certified cheque or money order, made payable to the Ontario University Application Centre or credit card submission is required. Make certain to record your application number. Each additional choice costs $42.00.
Late Nov-January - Within 48 hours of payment received by O.U.A.C., students will be able to view and review their applications online. Online applicants will receive an acknowledgement letter listing the universities and programs selected and providing instructions on how to view and/or update their application online.
NOTE: O.U.A.C. reference numbers and P.I.N.’s are needed to review and update file.
January 11, 2012 - Deadline to have submitted online applications to the O.U.A.C. for processing and equal consideration at university (unless specific university/program requirements are earlier). On-line system will be overloaded close to this deadline! We suggest that you apply before this final week!
Feb 7, 2012 - Recommended last date for students to submit all changes to O.U.A.C.
Feb 15, 2012 - Final marks from semester 1 are submitted to O.U.A.C.
April 26, 2012 - Mid-semester grades to be sent to Application Centre.
May 20, 2012 - Latest date that applicants shall expect a response. A response will be one of: a) an offer of admission, b) a refusal or c) a deferral
June 1, 2012 - The earliest date that universities may request a response to an offer of admission from an Ontario secondary school student. Students may accept offers prior but students are not compelled to make a decision before this date.
July 6, 2012 - Final transmission of final grades.
NOTE: Offers of admission may take many factors into consideration including marks in Grades 11 and 12 courses, both final and midterm grades. Admission committees will also take supplementary information into consideration if it has been requested.
Ontario universities support the full disclosure of all marks achieved in all attempts at a secondary school course. In its literature, each university should state clearly how it will treat repeated course marks in considering students.
It is the student’s responsibility to meet the deadline dates stipulated by the universities.
