Requirements of the Banting French Immersion Program

In order to achieve the Banting French Immersion Certificate, students must have a minimum of 12 immersion/extended courses in total:

                                             7 courses at the intermediate level (Grades 9 and 10)

                                             5 courses at the senior level (Grades 11 and 12)

                                             4 Français courses are included in the total of 12

If a student is unable to achieve the 12 French Immersion credits required for the Banting French Immersion Certificate because of  timetabling conflicts or post-secondary program requirements, the student may obtain the provincial certificate whose minimal requirement is 10 credits in French,  including 4 French Immersion language courses.  In order to develop French skills as much as possible, it is strongly recommended that French Immersion students take as many courses in French Immersion as possible.

Students must apply for their French Immersion Certificate in their final year.
