Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Services have provide a monthly ‘calendar’ with home activities related to early reading development. You can have fun with these activities knowing that you are helping with early reading skills.

School Year: 2012-2013

The below monthy ‘calendars’ with home activities  are related to early reading development. These skills  are  worked on in the classroom. You can have fun with these activities knowing that you are helping with early reading skills.

Some other ideas that may work for you:

  • Post the calendar where you can be reminded every day
  • Get the family involved
  • You can do the skills in any order
  • Repeat activities that are favourites
  • You or your child can check off or add a sticker to ones that have been completed
  • Feel free to skip ones that seem difficult; you can go back to them later
  • Enjoy some of the funny words and sounds that are produced when you are practising!
