SK Seasons Research - digital movie books Several of our Senior Kindergarten students have been busy working with me in the library researching the seasons. They made their own books and have turned their books into movies - the SK's themselves are the stars of their movies! Our school was chosen to be part of their tour and the visit is sponsored by TD Bank, Canadian Children's Book Centre, Scholastic Canada and the London Public Library. Our visit was FREE thanks to these sponsors. We heard a special presentation from our authors, and received a free autographed copy (autographed by both author and illustrator) of their book "Gifts." A special thank you to the many parents and grandparents in attendance. Starring...our Gr. 1 students. Once finished their research, they created a digestive system from homemade play dough, painted it, typed their research findings and finally presented their work to the class. Below find a movie made of their whole research process. http://www.tvdsb.ca/webpages/lieml/podcasting.cfm?subpage=165456 Remembrance Day Project - Gr. 2/3's Mrs. Burrough's Grade 2/3 students have been busy over the last couple of weeks creating their own "Peace" Books, based on the book "What Does Peace Feel Like" by Vladimir Radunsky. Each student created a page based on each sense (what does peace look like, what does peace sound like, etc.) and then put it together in a book to take home. The students then chose 2 pages and we put them all together in a classroom movie. Click on the link below to view the movie. http://www.tvdsb.ca/webpages/lieml/podcasting.cfm?subpage=163710
