Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test
Each high school in Ontario participates in the OSSLT, and all the tests for these Ontario high schools are shipped to Toronto to be marked by EQAO. Due to this process, test results are not released until June 2012. Student's test results will appear on their portal. For those who are unable to access their portal, Ms. Cameron will be able to inform you of your test results (after the information is released-generally middle to end of June). Before school is done in June, you should know your OSSLT results for 2012!
The OSSLT 2012-2013 is scheduled for April 11, 2013. Please use the links provided to test your skills and better prepare for the Literacy Test. All students are encouraged to practice the large writing tasks that will be on the April 11th Literacy Test.
The two specific long writing tasks are the following:
1. Writing a news report (expected length: 1 page handwritten)
2. Writing a mini opinion essay (expected length: 2 pages handwritten)
Please check out the links on the left-hand column of this site, which provide both tips and practice for the OSSLT. If you still have more questions, please do not hesitate to contact Ms. Cameron at Arthur Voaden Secondary School (519-631-3770).
