Arthur Voaden SS students in China

A group of 17 students and three staff from Arthur Voaden Secondary School in St. Thomas travelled to China during March Break this year, visiting the capital city of Beijing for six days.

The group visited the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, Summer Place, the Birdnest and Water Cube from the 2008 Olympics, and the Temple of Heaven. Some students also experienced a traditional rickshaw ride.

A highlight was a visit to the famous Great Wall of China at Badaling, seen in the photograph.

The group also spent two days in Shanghai where they visited the second tallest building in the world, Shanghai World Financial Centre, which also boasts the world’s tallest observatory.
