At Thames Valley, our caring staff is ready to welcome your child to Kindergarten!

The first day of school is an exciting event for all of us, but it may also be a time of significant change for you and your child.

To make this transition as enjoyable as possible, we suggest that you find out as much as you can about your school before you enroll your child.

Find out:

  • the principal’s name
  • when to register and what forms to fill out
  • what immunizations your child needs
  • the class program
  • the kindergarten yearly calendar and daily schedule
  • transportation procedures
  • food service arrangements

You will also want to find out how you can become involved with your child’s education and in the school.

Some schools will send you this information, or they will facilitate an orientation session in the spring for parents with children who will begin school in the fall. Alternatively, you can also contact the principal’s office to arrange a visit, or you can visit the Ministry of Education’s web site to review the curriculum.

At Thames Valley, we strive to meet the individual needs of each student, building on his or her strengths, abilities and talents.

We look forward to beginning our journey of learning together.

Picture Book & Parent Guide

In addition, we have prepared an electronic picture book for your child entitled, Here We Go Off To School. The accompanying Parent Information Guide will help make the transition a smooth, successful, and happy one for your family.

It is our hope that these materials will provide you with useful information that will show you how, together, we can assist your child to develop physically, socially, and intellectually.
