  Our Purpose... Announced on December 1, 2005 the Ontario Ministry of Education released the Ontario Parent Involvement Policy. This policy recognizes that parents play a vital role in the education of their children and in the success of schools and that together with parents the Ministry of Education, school boards, schools and staff all have a role to engage parents in education. As part of the Ontario Parent Involvement Policy, school boards are required to establish a parent involvement committee. The parent involvement committee is required to be chaired by a parent, the membership will include a majority of parents, as well as a trustee and the Director of Education. The core purpose is to provide advice and to support parent engagement. Parent Involvement Committees of school boards are central to the government’s vision for enhanced partnerships with parents. Thames Valley Parent Involvement Committee (TVPIC) is a unique partnership with the Thames Valley District School Council, the Thames Valley Council of Home & School Associations and the Thames Valley District School Board.
