The smell of fresh popcorn wafting through the halls is wonderful! On January 25th, 2012 the E.H. Chess Club will begin again. The club runs Wednesdays from 3:45 to 4:45. Students in grades 3 - 8 are welcome to join. The cost for the lessons is $10 and the club runs for 8 weeks till the final March tournament at the Western Fair.

Husky Hoopsters !!!
  The boys and girls basketball teams have been very busy over the past 2 weeks. The girls team won several games at the Glen cairn Husky Hoops Tournament and continue to have success in league games. The girls recently took part in a tournament in Strathroy. Stay tuned for more results as the season progresses ! The boys team also had excellent results at the Glen Cairn Husky Hoops Tournament. They finished first in their pool and made it all the way to the championship game. The boys also took the championship at the Sir Isaac Brock/Sherwood Fox Tournament the following week. The team... LDSS students winning at the OSSTF District 11 Student Achievement Awards:
The following students, Aksa M., Jesse C. and Alex O. were award winners in this year's Student Achievement Awards Competition in honour of Marion Drysdale. The challenge for 2012 was The Right to Speak, the Responsibility to Listen. Students were invited to create a response in either essay, poem or video format. Our school will be taking part in National Sweater Day again this year! World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Canada is calling on Canadians to turn down the heat and sport a sweater for one day. In addition to Thursdays, The Honour Orchestra will be starting their Connections Orchestra rehearsals at Saunders on Feb 8th. These rehearsals will run every other WED until the end of May. Students will be dismissed at 2:20-4:00PM on those days, to go to Saunders to rehearse with students from Lambeth and Arthur Ford. How to subscribe to RSS Feeds:






In order to subscribe to an RSS feed you will need two things, an RSS reader (also known as a news aggregator) and url (web address) of the RSS feed that you wish to subscribe.

» Download and Install a News Aggregator / RSS Reader - or use a RSS-enabled browser.

» Locate the web address (url) of the RSS feed (XML file) that you wish to subscribe - usually you can just click on the orange XML or RSS button.

» Many of the news readers will allow you to set the interval that the software will look for a feed update others simply update daily.

» The information in the feed will be updated when the feed contains new content.

You can choose to subscribe to the entire site RSS feed (ALL Feeds), or an individual feed found on each tab.

A news aggregator or RSS reader is a software application that collects and displays news headlines and summaries from sources that you have designated. An RSS feed is an XML document that contains the news headlines and summaries.
