Peter Jaffe
 | Peter Jaffe is a Trustee representing London Wards 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. Peter was first elected as Trustee for the former Board of Education for the City of London in 1980 where he served as Chair in 1987-1988. He also served a term as Chair of the Thames Valley District School Board in 1999-2000. Aside from various board committees, Peter has provided leadership in the development of violence prevention programs within the school system. Peter is a Professor in the Faculty of Education, and Academic Director of the Centre for Research and Education on Violence Against Women & Children at the University of Western Ontario. He is the Director Emeritus for the Centre for Children and Families in the Justice System (London Family Court Clinic). He has co-authored 10 books, 28 chapters, and over 83 articles related to children, families and the justice system. He has presented workshops across the United States and Canada, as well as Australia, New Zealand, Costa Rica, and Europe to various groups including judges, lawyers, mental health professionals and educators. He has been actively involved with trustee, teacher and parent groups in Ontario to raise awareness about the impact of media violence on child development. Peter has been honoured by receiving several awards for his community work and research including being named an Officer in the Order of Canada by the Governor General in July 2009.
