White Oaks Public School is on Bradley Avenue, between Jalna Blvd. and Ernest Ave. in South London, Ontario. Its 700 students and 50 staff members all agree that it's the place to be in Thames Valley.
White Oaks' goal is to enhance students' writing by teaching the writing process through a variety of genres, making explicit connections to reading, and maximizing instructional opportunities for writing in all subject areas. Teachers work together to assess student work, then analyze the data to form the basis for further instruction. Students in all grade levels will work through the writing process: planning, drafting, revising and editing and publishing. Our students' written work will be showcased during the school year on our website, newsletters and displays throughout the halls.
In addition to writing, this year, the White Oaks students will also work toward enhancing their math skills with a specific focus on problem solving.
