Survey results comparing 2006 to 2009 show improvement in all areas of the Safe School Survey. These areas include student perception of safety, climate and respect, student rating of safety within locations and student reports of incidents of bullying.
More detailed results are posted on the Safe Schools section of Southwold’s website.
On March 24, 2010, our Safe School’s Committee met to discuss the results of the survey and to plan ways to make Southwold even safer. It was decided by the committee that we should focus on three main areas: parent communication, bus safety and celebrating school pride.
We will be adding a Report Bullying section to our website to facilitate student and parent reports. To report, individuals will be able to simply click a prompt, enter a password and communicate the concern.
We would also like the thank our school community for continuing to support and celebrate positive student contributions at our Cougar Pride Assemblies.
