• Go to: Students > Student Awards and Scholarships > Search Student Awards > Sir Wilfrid Laurier
• Each award has specific criteria i.e. pursuing education in law, business, foods, has overcome challenges, etc. Usually only one candidate from each school is eligible. If there are numerous candidates, a competition will be run through Laurier.
Post – Secondary Institutions Chart

Contact the Financial Aid Office for scholarships, awards and bursary opportunities and requirements. Please check the Post-Secondary Chart provided below. You must check regularly with the post-secondary choices.

• These websites provide information on how and where to look for scholarships. After you have completed an online questionnaire, appropriate scholarships and bursaries will be suggested. HINT: be very specific when completing the survey in order to limit the number of scholarships that are selected for you.
Reminders to check • Parent’s Work / Your Work / Volunteer Organizations • Corporations, unions or employee groups may have bursaries and scholarships for their employees and their employees’ children. Check with the Human Resources Department at work. • Service groups such as Rotary, Kiwanis, Kinsmen and Masons can be a source for scholarships.
• Transripts/Credit couselling summaries available in Student Services, however expect at 48 hour turnaround
• You need to give your references time. Please approach them ASAP
What are Bursaries? A bursary is very similar to a scholarship but usually recognizes proven financial need. Often bursaries are applied for after you are accepted to a specific school so check the Financial Aid section of the college guide for details of what is available.
What are Scholarships? A scholarship is an award of money that a student receives to help cover the cost of post-secondary education. There exists two basis types of scholarships:
Honours Eligibility:
Grade 9,10,11 must take 8 courses at Laurier, achieved an average of 80% or more
Grade 12 - 6 Courses taken at Laurier 80% average achieved or more
Award of Excellence- Same Criteria, must have a 90% average

YOU MUST PRINT ALL APPLICATIONS AND SUBMIT THEM TO STUDENT SERVICES.
THEY WILL BE TIME-STAMPED, MUST HAVE STAMP TO BE ACCEPTED. MS. BURTON IS YOUR BEST CONTACT FOR HANDING IN APPLICATIONS AND OTHER FORMS.
