Department Arrangements for Assistance

ART -  The Art Department is almost always open at lunch in B109 for general help, creative ideas, or focusing on skill development.  Come on in to complete work or just for a visit!  Why not bring a friend?!?

BUSINESS - The computer lab in B210 is open for Business students to work on assignments at 7:30 a.m. and at lunch.  See any teacher in the Business Office for access to the room.  Students can make arrangements with their teacher for help at a time that works for teacher and student.  Many of our courses have helpful information on the Teachers' websites on the Saunders' website

DRAMA - Students can make arrangements with their teacher to get help and do make-up work at  lunch.

ENGLISH
- Your teacher is available by appointment during the lunch hour.

FRENCH AND INTERNATIONAL LANGUAGES -  A schedule of help sessions is posted in each French classroom. Help is available 4 days a week, Monday through Thursday from 11:00 to 11:30.  Teachers and senior language students are available to tutor at these times.

GEOGRAPHY - Remedial help is available for Geography students every lunch hour in Mr. Bukich's room, B318.
Geography teachers are available before school and at lunch to help students.

HISTORY - The History department encourages students to ask for help.  Make arrangements with your teacher to come in before school, at lunch or after school.

MATH - Ask your teacher for help when you don't understand. Go to Math Aid at lunch in Room B302 every day from 11:20 to 11:50 a.m.

MUSIC - Make an appointment with your teacher to get help before school, at lunch or after school.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION - Make an appointment with your teacher to get help before school or at lunch.  

SCIENCE - Extra help is available to all students on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the Science aid room (C325).  Grade 11 and 12 Chemistry students have optional tutorials at lunch and after school for two days before test days.  Grade 11 and 12 Biology students have tutorials at lunch or after school for two days before tests.  Biology students can access notes, assignments and projects from their student portal.  Relevant links to the textbook are also on the portal.   

SOCIAL SCIENCE AND HUMANITIES/FAMILY STUDIES -  Arrange with your teacher to come in at lunch or after school.

TECHNOLOGY -
Autobody - Set up a meeting with your teacher for extra help at lunch or after school.

Automechanics - the shop D100 is open every day at lunch for students to complete their work, use the computers or have lunch

Communications Technology - C100 is open every morning at 7:15 a.m. and every day at lunch for extra help and time to work on assignments and projects.

Construction - Set up a meeting with your teacher for extra help.

Machine Shop - Set up a meeting with your teacher for extra help.

Photography - Set up a meeting with your teacher for extra help.

Welding - Set up a meeting with your teacher for extra help.      


More Resources to Assist
SAUNDERS SUPPORT CENTRE
We are excited to introduce the Saunders Support Centre, located in the Sabres' Den in C207. The Support Centre is a lunch-time help room designed to support grade 9 and 10 students who are behind in their assignments or missed tests. Students will be scheduled into the Support Centre in one of two time slots (11:05-11:30, 11:35-12:00) until their work is completed. Once scheduled into the Centre, attendance is mandatory.  This initiative is aimed at ensuring students succeed in their classes.


RESOURCE - Help is available at lunch for all students in the Sabres' Den.

CULTURAL CENTRE
Room C103 is open Monday to Friday for the first half of lunch.  Computers are available for use and the local First Nations Education Offices provide food every Monday at lunch  

LIBRARY
The library is open Monday and Friday from 8:00 am to 3:15 pm and until 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.  Saunders staff and students can access online databases and ebooks from Saunders Homepage.  Click on Library and Information Services.  Then click on Catalogues and Databases.  The library has a brochure with at-home access passwords, allowing students access to these resources from home.

TUTORS - Options to consider:
1.  Go to the Sabres Den at lunch and arrange for a senior student to tutor you.
2.  Find a tutor on the tutor board in the guidance office.

     Free tutoring for Grades 9 to 12, Sunday through Thursday 5:30 to 9:30
