The new school year is in full swing…do you have questions – like what exactly does school council do?  Do you want to know more about what’s happening at our school?  Do you want to get involved but aren’t sure how?

Who are we?

The River Heights School Council is a group of parents along with school staff that meet once a month to discuss issues that affect our children’s education.  We also organize a number of fundraising events throughout the year, to provide resources for activities and tools that supplement the school’s budget and ensure our kids have the best possible school experience. 

Why are we here?

  • Because parents are important and make a real difference to children's learning

  •  To work together with everyone involved in school life – parents, learners, teachers, school staff, community – to support the school

  •  To make sure that all parents have a say in their children’s education – and are able to express their views and wishes

  •  To build links and involve parents with the wider learning community

  •  To listen to what parents want the Parent Council to do and how they can get involved

Our ultimate goal:  Our children’s education.
