Lord Dorchester Secondary School, situated in the village of Dorchester, Ontario serves the needs of secondary school students in the municipality of Thames Centre, which includes the villages of Dorchester and Thorndale and their surrounding rural areas.

The school and village in which it is located are named after Sir Guy Carleton, the British officer who earned the title 'Lord Dorchester' for his military achievements in defending Canada against repeated attacks by American forces during the late 1700's, thus preserving the provinces of Upper and Lower Canada as British colonies, and serving as Governor of Upper Canada on two occasions.
