An Awards System provides motivation, support for improved self-esteem and positive recognition for students who participate in a wide variety of school and extra-curricular activities. It should encourage school spirit and participation by as many students in as many areas as possible.

The Evelyn Harrison Student Recogniton and Awards Program consists of six aspects:

Gotcha Flying Like a HAWK
Student of the Month
Winits Program for Grades 1 - 6
School Letter for Grades 7 - 8
Special Awards of Recognition
Grade 8 Graduation Awards

Gotcha Flying Like a HAWK:

Here at Harrison, we believe that every student can be a good student and a contributing member of our community. We would like to recognize our contributors when they Fly Like Hawks. Each letter of HAWKS stands for the values we believe are necessary for students to be successful at school and for individuals to be successful in life.

We run a HAWKS recognition program so that we can highlight the contributions of individuals that make Harrison such a great place to be. Staff members present students with "Gotchas" when they catch someone demonstrating one of the HAWKS values.

Every month, during our Harrison Recognizes assemblies, we will hold our GOTCHA draw to celebrate with individuals who have flown like a HAWK.
