

EAGLE HEIGHTS PUBLIC SCHOOL SCHOOL COUNCIL INFORMATION School Council represents a very real opportunity for parents and care- givers to be actively involved shaping the everyday experience of their children at Eagle Heights. To that end, School Council is an advisory body. The advice provided is based on the general views of the school community, and the best interests of all the students at Eagle Heights. A typical School Council consists of a chair & co-chair, secretary, parent representatives, student representative, school teaching staff representative, community representative, and a representative from Eagle Heights Home & School Association. Among other things, the School Council has input into key issues such as the following: The school code of student behavior dress code consultation on school action plans for improvement school year calendar curriculum and program goals and priorities school budget priorities methods of reporting to parents and the community selection of principals school-based services and community partnerships related to social health, recreational and nutritional programs community use of school facilities coordination of services for children and youth development, implementation, and review of board policies at the local level School Council Meetings Questions or concerns regarding any School Council matters can be directed to the School Principal or to the School Council Chair by written letter delivered to the School’s Front Office.
