In the music department we work on a regular basis with professors from the University of Western Ontario and other leading universities.  Recent clinicians include Dr. Colleen Richardson (Bands), Professor Jennifer Moir (Choirs) and Dr. Jana Starling (Clarinet).  We have also been fortunate enough to have professors and other local professionals work with smaller groups of students on their individual instruments.  Lastly, each year we visit U.W.O. to watch their ensembles perform in concert.

In terms of other performance enrichment we offer small group and solo opportunities to more advanced students as well as featuring student soloists with our ensembles.  We have a wide range of performing groups such as our auditioned chamber choir and new ensembles like drumline which is coached by students from the U.W.O. percussion faculty.

In the classroom we are able to differentiate a great deal in theory curriculum, especially in our composition and arranging activities.  Students with advanced theory background are encouraged to work on more challenging topics as well, where possible, consider applying for the AMX (external) music credit.  Lastly, in many ensembles, gifted students are encouraged to become section leaders as well as take an active role on our music council.
