Enrichment Opportunities at Banting

Banting extensive enrichment program provides a wide range of opportunities for students to augment their learning at the curricular and extra curricular levels.

For students who are on Gifted IEPs, and for students who are recommended by their teachers, Banting has added additional gifted programming. At the grade nine level, Gifted courses are offered in grade nine English and Science and in grade ten in English and Careers and Civics. Our Senior Enriched Leadership Class continues to be a popular choice for senior students and has been in place since 2008.

Our French Immersion Program offers differentiation within the existing program to offer opportunities for enrichment for our gifted and talented students in FI. Enrichment opportunities continue to exist for students in our regular programs through differentiation and course compacting. Specific comments are noted in the links to each of the subject areas.

The recent addition of our Junior Enrichment Program has provided grade 9 and ten students additional opportunities to take part in activities, field trips, and conferences. Our AP, program traditionally offered in French, is expanding to meet to meet additional student needs based on request. Banting boasts the extraordinary tradition of an extensive number of initiatives that have been designed by enterprising students.
