Grade 7 and 8 Literacy & Numeracy Camp

 

  

Literacy and Numeracy Camp

    Grades 7/8
        Term 1 (July 8 - July 12) and/or Term 2 (July 15 – July 19)
            Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.

 

Students will explore various learning strategies that will help them become more independent learners while increasing their personal management skills in school.  Students will work on developing a range of strategies to improve their learning and achievement, particularly in the areas of literacy and numeracy. These are not pass/fail programs.

 

Students may take one or both of the following:

Literacy - This program is designed to remediate essential skills in reading, writing, and oral language, including spelling and grammar with a particular emphasis on the writing process. These skills will also assist students when preparing for the Grade 10 Literacy Test.

Numeracy - This program is designed to remediate essential skills in mathematics including patterning and algebra, measurement, number sense and numeration, data management, and geometry. These skills will also assist students preparing for the Grade 9 Math assessment.

Students in Grade 7 in the current school year should register for the Grade 7 Literacy and/or Numeracy program(s).

Students in Grade 8 in the current school year should register for the Grade 8 Literacy and/or Numeracy program(s).
