Program:

Anishnaabe Skiniiw is a joint venture with the Thames Valley District School Board and the three First Nations Bands, namely: Chippewas of the Thames, Oneida of the Thames and Muncee-Delaware of the Thames. This program is for those First Nations students living in these three communities who meet the eligibility requirements.

The program:

·         provides a range of academic opportunities for students to attain credits and work toward returning to their home schools;

·         provides opportunities for students to obtain labour market experience through co-op and volunteer experience in preparation for the world of work;

·         provides opportunities for students to acquire interpersonal skills necessary to be a successful, contributing member of society.

Class / Days / Times:

The Anishnaabe Skiniiw Centre is open daily, Monday to Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (Lunch: 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.). The program runs on the regular secondary school calendar.

Staff:

The Anishnaabe Skiniiw Centre is staffed with one full-time teacher, one educational assistant, and one First Nations counsellor.

School Community:

All First Nations students, living on the reserves, age-appropriate for secondary school.
